Brass
X-ray of brass is often used to detect internal structural defects such as cavities, pores, cracks, inclusions, or other irregularities. It is used in various manufacturing processes such as casting, forging or pressing brass parts. Brass parts, gunmetal, etc. are available in a wide variety of alloys. A high lead content often causes too much radiation to be absorbed.
Usually we can test brass with a lead content of 3% up to a thickness of about 10 to 15 mm. If your test object has a higher material strength, we will be happy to try it out to see if it still works. In general, we do not charge anything for this.
The evaluation of X-ray images and data can be carried out according to common norms and standards such as ASTM B594 or ISO 17636.
